Adding a Custom Domain

This article describes how to add a custom domain to your Blogline blog.

Step 1: Purchase a domain

If you don't already own a domain you'll need to register one. There are countless domain registrars out there but we recommend iwantmyname.com

Step 2: Setting up DNS

If you're running your blog on a subdomain (e.g. blog.yourdomain.com) add a CNAME record and point it to [your-subdomain].blogline.co, where [your-subdomain] is the subdomain you chose when you created your Blogline account. For example, if you chose the subdomain iloveblogline, you would add the following CNAME record:

CNAME blog iloveblogline.blogline.co

If you're running your blog on your primary domain (e.g. yourdomain.com), add a DNS A Record and point it to our IP 143.198.240.10.

A 143.198.240.10

Note: depending on the provider it can take a while for the DNS changes to take effect.

Step 3: Configure Blogline

Now that you've pointed your domain name to our servers, you need to configure the domain name in the Blogline settings.

Log in to your dashboard and click Settings, followed by Blog Settings. On this screen you will see a Custom Domain option.

Simply enter the name of your domain, e.g. mydomain.com, and click Update
